Ted Lowen joined ICR in 2010, after serving for eight years as Global Director of Communications for BASF Catalysts (a +$5 billion division of BASF, created in 2006 following the acquisition of Engelhard Corporation in 2006.) At BASF he was responsible for all external communications activities, including corporate positioning, financial communications, media relations, government affairs, crisis response and issues management. Prior to his corporate experience, Ted worked for over twelve years at two of the world's largest public relations firms, Burson-Marsteller and Hill and Knowlton. At H&K he spent five years in the Asia-Pacific region, where he created and oversaw the Firm's financial and investor relations practice in Tokyo and Hong Kong. At Burson-Marsteller Ted headed the firm's investor relations practice where he counseled clients on a variety of financial communication issues, including investor presentations, mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructurings and spin-offs, financial restatements, earnings shortfalls, management changes and shareholder litigation. Earlier he worked as a reporter for Forbes Magazine, covering the energy, manufacturing, retail and financial services industries, and at Fortune Magazine, where he served as Program Director for the Fortune Enterprises Group, the magazine's new media division. Ted graduated from Hamilton College and holds a Masters in Business Administration from the New York University Graduate School of Business Administration.
