ICR

John Flanagan (1964-2008)

On December 24, 2008, ICR lost its friend, partner and co-founder, John Patrick Flanagan, to a very aggressive and totally unforeseen form of cancer at the all-too-young age of 44. As one of the firm's three co-founders, John played an instrumental role in ICR's growth and success over the years, building the business from an idea launched over cocktails one evening, to becoming one of the ten largest and the fastest-growing independent communications firms in the country. John served as the firm's legal counsel and as co-head of its Corporate Communications Practice. He was one of the most valued sources of counsel and advice to the firm's team members and clients alike.

ICR has always been about friendship, hard work, smart and strategic counsel and having a lot of fun in the process. John embodied each one of these qualities to the fullest. He leaves with us a wife and three children who are as much a part of ICR as he was. His spirit is very much alive at ICR and his example will help guide the firm in the years ahead.
