Michael is a trusted counselor and strategist for ICR. Based in Washington, D.C., he maintains a wide network of C-suite executives, corporate board members, and important players in the legislative and executive branches of government. His career has given him valuable perspective and has included positions: in government at The White House, SEC and DOJ; in business with in-house senior positions at a number of Fortune 100 companies; in the Capital Markets with the NASDAQ, FINRA and Friedman Billings & Ramsey; and in the media as an agency veteran and at The New York Times. This wide background has enabled Michael to provide strategic counsel to hundreds of companies, trade associations and non-profit groups as they work through complex challenges to achieve public policy goals, navigate crisis situations, achieve business objectives, and enhance brand equity and corporate reputation. His experience includes communications advisory work across the value chain, including upstream, midstream, and downstream companies. Michael has earned him a number of awards, including for his crisis work on the Deepwater Horizon and at Chevron’s Richmond, CA refinery. Also of note, early in his career, Michael was a key member of the communication team for Mobil Corporation and helped direct communications in support of the $98 billion Exxon-Mobil merger.
